My internship in the office of U.S. Congressman Mike Rogers (AL-03) this past summer was an incredible and transformative experience. Working in such a dynamic office gave me the opportunity to learn from people of all ages and backgrounds from across the country, each bringing unique perspectives and experiences that enriched my understanding of public service. Living in a new city allowed me to immerse myself in a completely different environment while learning firsthand how our government operates, from legislative processes to constituent services and office operations.

Beyond the day-to-day work, I developed essential professional skills, including how to communicate effectively, manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, and conduct myself with professionalism and confidence. I also had the privilege of observing and contributing to meaningful work that directly impacts the community, which deepened my appreciation for leadership rooted in service. This experience challenged me, inspired me, and provided lessons that I will carry with me into future opportunities, both personally and professionally.
